Search-result actions create a drop-down list of actions that the user can apply to any relevant document listed in search results. For example, the user might choose to open the document for editing, add it to their “my links” list, view more metadata about it or simply view it. Action menus of this type are common throughout SharePoint, but the only Search & Preview makes these possible directly within result lists.
